I first met Farshid in 1982 as 7 of us embarked on the MSc in Community Medicine. It was a life changing year for us all as we moved from our previous careers into public health. We made lifelong friendships, reflected in Farshid, Anne-Maree and myself meeting for lunch every 2 or 3 months since then. Farshid was a wonderful friend. Always upbeat and smiling. There was much laughter but also support from him as we journeyed through the ups and downs of our careers. He was always so positive even in the last few years as he endured numerous treatments. I will greatly miss my lovely, caring, thoughtful friend. I have added a photo of 4 of us at one of our lunches.
